May, 2010
Dear Bay Lakers,
I am excited to be taking over as president of the Bay Lake Improvement Association and look forward to working with new vice president, Dominic Ciresi, and the rest of the board members, committee chairs and other volunteers. A huge thank you to Trish Jesperson for her three years as president and the countless hours and resources she has contributed to the lake.
Anyone who knows Trish won’t be surprised to hear that she is not walking away from BLIA. Trish and Dominic are the new Bay Lake Environmental Fund co-chairs. Thanks also to past chairs Rick Bale and Don Knutson, both of whom continue to advise and assist in the important task of raising funds to keep Bay Lake a first class lake. Another new appointment is Josh Goolsbee as beach captains’ chair. Sylvia Graff continues to chair access monitoring but is now enlisting the help of Jane and Phil Rollins. The board has also decided to purchase an automated video inspection system to monitor boat launches and educate boaters of the need to clean off boats. For more information on the system, see the latest issue of The Breezes newsletter, and watch for information on the website.
Finally, thank you to all you members who support BLIA with contributions of time, money and expertise. There are many opportunities to participate. For instance, all members are welcome at the board meetings: May 22, June 12, July 17, August 21, September 11 and December 11 at 9:00 a.m. The board has been busy working on a strategic plan and will share its progress at the annual meeting.
Other 2010 events include:
I look forward to seeing you at some or all of these events. I especially encourage you to attend the annual meeting July 10 and to include members of your family who care about the future of Bay Lake. Get involved, tell your friends and neighbors about BLIA and encourage them to join and contribute. Thanks for supporting Bay Lake and everything that makes this place special.
Sincerely,

Chris Ruttger
President
